University History
Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) was established in 1974 as Pakistan’s first open university, modeled on the concept of distance education. Over the decades, AIOU has expanded its network to reach millions of students across the country, including those in remote and underserved areas. The Multan Campus was set up to serve the students of South Punjab by providing them with academic support, examination centers, and access to university resources.
